Hex Nations: the small project I started with my flatmate is near completion!

Well I thought it was going to be a tiny project but, after sinking hours into it, it seems to have grown in scope!
To make it playable all we have to do is figure out network connections or I need to figure out how to program an AI which doesn't hog %100 of the processor! Here is a link to the latest working build:

I may update the jar, but the link should always work. I do have an extensive list of source code backups, but it's not just my project so I'm unsure as to whether it's going to be completely open source or not...

I will continue work on my RPG sometime in the future, and have some ideas which may bring my 3D RTS back into the realms of being a feasible project!

So, basically there is none... I have started a new project (a very small one) with a friend at Uni, just as a kinda ice breaker project, I may ore may not post a link to a working demo here in the near future, as it is coming along nicely :D Once that is finished I may be able to convince him to help me with TwoDee, but we will have to wait and see!

Freshers week

Wow, Freshers week has been amazing! Had a great time, met loads of cool and interesting people, just wow! Unsurprisingly I have made absolutely no progress this last week or so... I hope to resume programming shortly although there are no promises as of yet :P Peace out!

Latest Build 21/09/2011

Ok, so here is the latest build and source code:

The Folders containing the source code are in fact eclipse projects already if that helps with looking at the source, although it would be best to rename the folder to plain "TwoDee" before importing

I have added items that can be stacked and picked up and drawn my own textures, along with many other tweaks and bug fixes.

Starting Uni!

Well I am starting at Southampton University on the 25th, I am super excited :D. So if progress slows... well I doubt anyone will ever read this anyway, but just in case here is the latest download, it contains the latest build and the source code for each time i've backed it up so you can see how it has progressed.

If anyone is interested in helping or wants to tell me how crap/great they think I am doing, feel free to email me :D

Latest Source Code

Ok so two things, I know the images are from Minecraft, but I'm no artist, and it was a handy grid based texture I had to hand!

Secondly, I have created a mini app called Map Generator, this allows me to easily tweak the map generator class and get a clearer picture of exactly what it does

My first blog post ever!

I have started a blog to document my progress on a little project which I am working on called TwoDee. It is a simple grid based RPG game I started yesterday and is completely open Source for now :-D

I have a drop box account so I think I will be posting links here so any readers who are interested can take a peek, please note it is in very early beta mode so don't expect anything fun to play just yet!

Here is the download link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31739883/TwoDee.rar

It is all coded in native java so if yours is up to date just double click to open it :)
